ETOBICOKE CAMERA CLUB

Additional Information

Established in 1957, the Etobicoke Camera Club provides an opportunity for people to meet and enjoy a common interest in photography, to share ideas, and to improve photographic and presentation skills.

Visitors are most welcome to attend club meetings (there is no charge with the exception of a nominal $5 fee for a few meetings as noted in the schedule).

The club covers all aspects of imaging including slide film, digital, and print images. We have image evaluation and judging sessions throughout our program year.  The Club strives to promote learning to make better photographic images. All are welcome from beginners to advanced amateurs.

Meetings are held Monday evenings and consist of:

Photo outings, held on weekends several times during the year, include a workshop which is both instructional and hands-on.

Members participate in one of two competitive divisions, depending on skill level and experience. Although members are encouraged to enter images and prints in the competitions, it is not necessary to do so in order to be a club member.  Images and prints entered in competitions are scored by a panel of judges from other clubs, and attendees can learn from judges’ scoring and comments. During the next salon evening, entered images are shown and ribbons are awarded to winners.   The Annual Banquet and Awards Night is held in May.

The Etobicoke Camera Club is a member of the Greater Toronto Council of Camera Clubs (GTCCC), Arts Etobicoke, and the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA).
