SPORTDAD Sports Photography My Backup Method Dec, 2018 I shoot RAW onto two cards in the camera (second card is a backup). When I ingest the primary card, Photo Mechanic puts one copy of the images on the SSD of my laptop and a secondary copy on my external hard drive. I copy the images from the external hard drive into my RAW Images folder on the external storage of my desktop computer back at my office. From there, I copy the files of the keepers over to my Pictures folder when I import them into Lightroom. I edit the images and upload the finished JPEGS to my SmugMug website. In the background, the images are being backed up to the cloud via Backblaze. Once the images are safely stored on the cloud, I delete the images from the laptop’s external drive. After a number of months, I delete the images on the RAW Images folder on my desktop computer. In the end, I have at least two copies of the RAW files (one on my computer, one in the cloud) and a copy of the JPEGS on a different cloud service.
