CAPA Stance on Artificial Intelligence in Photo Competitions as of December13, 2024

CAPA has published updated detail on the use of AI tools in competition images. Any tool that uses "Generative AI" is not allowed.  These tools introduce machine generated content that was never part of anything the photographer photographed. There are some non-obvious ones such as the remove tools in Lightroom and Photoshop. It’s best to read the CAPA Stance on Artificial Intelligence in Photo Competitions for what is/is not allowed. Whereas tools such as AI Denoise (Topaz, LR, ACR, DXO etc) that use data from the original photo are allowed.
