What Is The Digital Diner?

The Digital Diner is a monthly photo challenge open to all ECC members. The aim is to try to improve our ability to create interesting images by taking photos on a given theme, providing a chance to experiment with different techniques and subjects. The images are uploaded to the ECC website and a Zoom meeting is held at the end of each challenge for viewing and discussion. It's not necessary to have contributed any images to take part in the meeting.

The Diner is completely non-competitive and provides an opportunity for members to share with others how and why they took their images, and to get some feedback. Although some images have gone on to ECC competition, many are less polished. The only requirement is to be willing to pick up your camera and experiment!

There are a few standing rules:

• Images are to be taken during the time frame of each challenge - generally one month. The intent is to give some thought to a new project, so submitting older images is not encouraged.
• Unless otherwise specified, you can upload up to three images per challenge.
  
• Maximum image size is 1600 x 1200 pixels.
• There should be some way of identifying the photographer (either with a watermark or by including your name in the title).

Theme For November 6th's Meeting - 7:00-9:00 PM EST

The theme for October's Digital Diner is "Guess The Mystery Object".

This could be an item which is so old or unusual that most people wouldn't recognize it. Or, even more challenging, it could be something mundane or in everyday use but the photos are taken in such a way that it's not obvious what the item is.

Up to three images can be submitted, but they must all be of the same object, or else the Diner meeting might go on all night while the participants try to guess what everything is!

Using the usual Diner time frame of one month, for this challenge photos can be taken any time between now and Nov. 6th.
 
Images must be uploaded before the Digital Diner Zoom meeting begins (7:00pm EDT) on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024.

Uploading Your Images

• Go to the menu Programs, Digital Diner, Upload Challenge Images in order to upload your images. As this is only available to ECC club members only, you must be logged in to gain access to this link.

Meeting Zoom Link

• Go to the menu Zoom Links, Digital Diner Zoom Link, and click on the current date to join this month's zoom meeting. As this is only available to ECC club members, you must be logged in to gain access to this link.
